Is It Okay for Companies Allowing Amass Personal Data for Behavioral Targeting ? (Discussion Part 2)

There are still a lot of pros reasons why company have to allow amass the personal data for behavioral targeting. From the previous posting in part 1, we already discuss at least four reasons of it. Here are another 3 reasons for companies to do it.

1. Marketing Research and New Innovations

Besides for advertising tools, marketers found a new benefit of behavioral targeting. It can be used as a media for doing research and figuring out kind of people who buy the products. It can detect what other products that customers want to buy beside the previous products they have chose. Another thing is behavioral targeting open new avenues for the next step of online advertisements.Behavioral targeting also opens new avenues for the advancement of online advertising. For example, cell phone personalized data shows a lot of useful information, including street location.

2. A Win-win situation for both customers are advertisers.

In online shopping technology, there is a new model called Cost-per-click (CPC). Its function is to rule the advertising company only have to pay if the advertisements clicks and redirecting it back to the site. By using this model, innovative ad technologies will automatically prioritize the shoppers with the greatest history of clicking on their ads.

3. Companies can improve customer relationships

When the companies allowing to amass personal data for behavioral targeting, it means to make good relationships between the customers and companies. It because the companies can give more information and open minded about their corporations through customer’s argue. Finally, we finish the discussion about this topic. Isn't it time and money consuming to conduct behavioral targeting? because to do it, you must collect all the information first, then make it into segment, then consult it by hiring consumer research team. Do you think company will reach best profit by conducting this? thank you

    1. Thank you for the good question. In doing business, we can use the term of high risk high return. It means, the more you sacrifice on something, it is going to generate more return for the business in the future. For the best reach you must have sacrifice, and it can be a lot of consuming for time and money but it can give the more benefit than that. It’s because the company no need spend more money to advertising the product because they can do it directly by email or phone number to tell customers about product information which can get. Other than that company will know about the behavioral targeting and it can make strategic or good way for company to reach the customer. In other way, as long as the company can manage the cost efficiently, it is going to be an effective way of doing advertising directly based on the need of each customer.
